Basic Troubleshooting for System Performance Issues

  1. Check for high CPU or memory usage:
    • Right-click on the Taskbar and select Task Manager.
    • Go to the Processes tab and sort by CPU or Memory usage to see which applications are consuming resources.
  2. End unnecessary tasks:
    • Select the high-usage process and click End Task.
    • Be cautious not to close critical system processes.
  3. Check for updates:
    • Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    • Click Check for updates and install any pending updates.
  4. Run Disk Cleanup:
    • Open the Start Menu and search for Disk Cleanup.
    • Select the drive you want to clean and follow the prompts to remove unnecessary files.
  5. Reboot your computer to refresh the system.

  1. Microsoft Edge:
    • Open Edge and click on the three-dot menu at the top-right corner.
    • Select Settings > Privacy, search, and services.
    • Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear.

    • Click Clear Data, select Cached Web Content, and click Clear.
